Join Team Baitbox in Bosnia and experience four days of guided fly fishing in some of Europe's best grayling and trout waters.

Team Baitbox is one of Sweden's most appreciated sport fishing teams. With a great passion for fly fishing, a relaxed manner, and a willingness to always share their knowledge, they have built a strong community that attracts anglers from all over the country. On this trip, you get to fish, socialize, and share the experience with the whole team – both by the river and around the dinner table in the evenings.

Last year's trip was a real success, with fantastic fishing, lots of laughs, and an atmosphere that made the week fly by. That's why we're back in 2027.

Fishing in Bosnia

Bosnia has become one of Europe's most appreciated fly-fishing destinations. Clear water, stable water flow, and strong stocks of wild grayling and trout attract fly fishers from all over the world.

During the week, we will fish four of the country's most well-known rivers – Ribnik, Pliva, Sana, and Una – where each water offers its own unique character.

Ribnik is known for its technical dry fly fishing with selective grayling and trout. Pliva offers varied fishing for large grayling, trout, and rainbow trout. Sana offers larger waters with a chance for truly large fish, while Una combines picturesque surroundings with fantastic fishing.

With short distances between the accommodation and the rivers, we get the most out of each fishing day and always adapt the choice of water to the prevailing conditions. It is precisely the variety, the quality of the fishing, and the untouched nature that have made Bosnia one of Europe's premier fly-fishing destinations.

What is a hosted trip?

A Hosted Trip is more than just a fishing trip. It's a week where you get to experience fantastic fly fishing with like-minded individuals, while Simon and Jens from Baitbox are present throughout the entire trip.

For four days, we will fish some of Europe's most renowned fly fishing rivers alongside local guides who know the waters inside and out. But it's not just the fishing that makes the trip special. The camaraderie, fishing talk, laughter at the dinner table, and evenings spent together are just as much a part of the experience.

Last year's Hosted Trip was a huge success. Fantastic fishing, lots of laughs, new friendships, and an atmosphere that made the week fly by too quickly. Now we're doing it again – and we hope you'll join the whole Baitbox team in Bosnia

What started as a way to save their own fishing trips on YouTube has grown into one of the country's most appreciated fishing channels, with hundreds of thousands of views and a loyal audience that has followed their journey for over a decade.

Bosnia's rivers, as good as their reputation

In a short time, Bosnia has become one of Europe's most talked-about fly fishing destinations. Here you'll find crystal clear waters, strong populations of grayling, trout, and rainbow trout, as well as some of the continent's most well-known fly fishing rivers.

During the week, we fish classic waters such as Ribnik, Pliva, Sana, and Una, where each river offers its own unique character. From technical dry fly fishing for shy trout in Ribnik to flowing sections with large grayling and rainbow trout in Pliva. When conditions are right, there are also good chances of catching truly large fish.

Every day we fish together with local guides who know the waters inside and out. Together with Team Baitbox, we choose the best stretches based on water levels, weather, and fishing conditions to give you the best possible experience.

Whether this is your first fly fishing trip or you've fished in Bosnia before, several days of fantastic fishing, beautiful nature, and experiences that are hard to find anywhere else in Europe await you.

Cabins by the river, rustic food, genuine tranquility

You'll be staying in cabins or apartments right where the fishing takes place, with accommodation in shared double rooms (private rooms are available as an option). Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included every day, along with non-alcoholic beverages. The food is local, rustic, and prepared with care, often served by the river where the day's fishing is summed up.

The silence, nature, and proximity to the water make Bosnia a place where you can truly unwind. It's fishing, food, and atmosphere in its simplest and best form.

    Team Baitbox is one of Sweden's most appreciated names in sport fishing. It all started in 2010 when a few friends began filming their fishing trips and uploading them to YouTube – not to become famous, but to save memories from their adventures. The simple concept, where fishing and camaraderie were always the focus, quickly made the channel one of Sweden's largest in sport fishing.

    Today, Team Baitbox consists of Simon Ekdahl, Jens Sankala, and Andreas "Jone" Jonsson. Together, they have inspired thousands of anglers by showing fishing exactly as it is – with successes, setbacks, a lot of humor, and a great love for nature. It is precisely this genuine feeling that has made Baitbox so appreciated among anglers across the country.

    On this Hosted Trip, Simon, Jens, and Jone will be present throughout the entire journey. You will fish with them, eat dinner together, and share both the day's highlights and the stories that emerge along the river. It's not about following celebrities from a distance – it's about being part of the team.

    What is a hosted trip?

    A hosted trip is a fishing trip where one or more well-known individuals travel with the group throughout. On this trip, Simon and Jens from Baitbox will be your hosts. They will be with you on the water, at the table, and throughout the entire experience.

    What fish species are caught in Bosnia?

    Mainly trout, grayling and rainbow trout, but also huchen. The rivers Ribnik, Pliva, Sana and Una are known for large specimens of all species. Grayling over 50 centimeters are not uncommon.

    Do I need to be an experienced fly fisher?

    No. Local guides and the Baitbox team will tailor the days to your level. You don't have to be an expert, but you should be comfortable casting a fly rod.

    What happens if I cannot depart from Stockholm, Landvetter, Oslo, or Copenhagen?

    Can I rent equipment?

    Yes, it's available as an option. Let us know when booking and we'll arrange it.

    Is there Wi-Fi available?

    Yes, there is Wi-Fi at the accommodation. The connection is sufficient for sending pictures, checking in with family and friends, and sharing the day's catch in the chat. Do not expect streaming or high speeds. If you want to ensure full connectivity, we recommend a local SIM or eSIM card, as coverage in the area is generally good.
